First Sail

Updated: Jun 4, 2019

Small adventures at a time..

We have to start somewhere. At some point we have to make that first step. It could simple be leaving your mooring. Sailing out of your home harbour and round the corner to anchor for the night. A small step out of the comfort zone.

For me this meant sailing the stort trip from Lamlash to Brodick. Perfect conditions gave the boat a bit of a lean on the way. Making a steady 5 knots and tucking into the small anchorage below Brodick castle. Aprehansive to stay the night with slightly awkward gusts however as 1, 2 and then 3 boats came and anchored around me I realised it might not be so bad. This is perhaps a great example of one of the difficults to overcome when single handed. The lack of different perspect and having to trust your single intintion.
